Apply to CMA

Thank you for your interest in Coast Mountain Academy. Every year, our admissions team supports applicants and their families as they work through the application process at CMA. This process is intended to be fun for the applicants and designed to provide staff with the information needed to make an informed decision in regard to the suitability of the applicant for CMA. Our student body is engaged, curious, and active. Our admissions team is looking to admit applicants who are willing to participate in a good conversation, ask questions of peers and adults, take chances, fail sometimes, respect the opinions of others, and most importantly have a strong desire to learn.

The first step in the application process at CMA is to complete a New Student Application form online at the MyCMA portal. Once completed and reviewed by the admissions team, suitable applicants will be asked to campus for an admissions interview with the Head of School and Director of Admissions. Currently, we are offering applicants the opportunity to conduct their admissions interviews online. After the interview, applicants will either be declined or offered a spot at CMA. It is then up to the successful applicants and their families to decide whether they choose to accept the spot at CMA and join our growing community.

2022/2023 Academic Year

We are still accepting new student applications for this academic year and have a few spots left in grades 7, 9, 11, and 12. Currently, we are on waitlist only for grades 8 and 10. To ensure consideration please complete the new student application and submit it along with all supporting documents and the application fee as soon as possible.

For more information or to be added to our waitlist please contact our Director of Admissions, Tracy Keeling at 604-390-3262 or via email at [email protected]

2023/2024 Academic Year

We have implemented some new admissions timelines and application requirements for entry next year. In addition to the new student application and individual admissions interview, we have added some small group activities in an effort to give prospective students a broader range of opportunities to demonstrate their strengths. We will be accepting new student applications for the 2023/2024 academic year from January 9 to March 31, 2023. Admissions interviews and group activities will take place on campus in March and April.

Application Requirements

If you are ready to apply to our school, here is a detailed list of what we will need:

  • A completed New Student Application form
  • Application fee ($250 non-refundable)

These supporting documents are required as part of the new student application:

  • Passport-sized image of the student, taken within the past 12 months
  • Copy of applicant’s birth certificate or passport
  • Final report cards for the last two years
  • A teacher reference with contact information
  • A community member reference with contact information
  • IEP’s and Learning Assessments from the last 2 years (if applicable)
  • Parent/Guardian documentation – one of the following: Canadian Birth Certificate/Passport, copy of valid Visa/Permit or PR Card
  • Proof of BC residency with a parent name and current address (utility bill, phone/cable bill)

Optional:

  • Copies of school and/or community achievement certificates
  • Copies of awards
  • Samples of art

We appreciate the time each applicant invests in their application to CMA. Once the completed application form, supporting materials, and application fees are all received, the application will be reviewed by the Admissions team.

It is important to note that CMA often receives more applications than we have space to accept. All applications will be reviewed but unfortunately, we can not guarantee admission will be offered to all applicants.

Please feel free to contact our Director of Admissions, Tracy Keeling at 604-390-3262 if you have any questions regarding the admissions process.

Our Anatomy & Physiology 12 students had the chanc Our Anatomy & Physiology 12 students had the chance to dissect chicken hearts and learn more about this important muscle.

Students were able to put their theoretical knowledge to use and identify aortas, pulmonary arteries, left and right atriums and ventricles, the myocardial epicardium, and coronary arteries.

Bisecting the heart was a joy to many students who were suddenly able to see the structures we had learned about.

As students progress through the years at CMA they As students progress through the years at CMA they are able to take on more technically demanding outdoor adventures.

It isn’t simply a matter of strength and maturity. With enough experience in our LEAD program students develop the group camaraderie, individual disposition, and trust with staff that are all necessary to undertake these challenges.
